Servo signal resistor

I see that the pro development board has a 150 ohm resistor on each of the servo signal lines. Is this necessary?

    I suspected this had been asked before but couldn't find anything in the search. I figured it was more of a safety measure than a requirement, but have 18 servos to interface. I was concerned I was done soldering for the night.

    Then I found a handful of 330 ohm resistors I got from the free table at UPENE last year! :p I hooked one up as a test and it worked ok so I moved forward and used 18 of them on my hexapod robot.
