I'd think the first on shouldn't work.
Do links within forum automatically work without tool?

That looks like it will work.· I remember a while ago I had to use the link to to get links to work.· Now it seem the link works fine and you only need to tool if you want to make a work link to a page instead of using the full address in the post.
