Anybody going to Make Faire Detroit? I just read that they are actually holding it minutes from my home in Sep. But the the one this coming weekend is at the Henry Ford Museum, so I'm going to take a little road trip.

Anybody know of anything powered by Parallax products there?

I think you'll find it full of Arduinos, if the Newcastle Maker Faire I attended earlier in the year is anything to go by. Coley at al had the only stand with Propeller stuff on it. You should enjoy it, anyway. Take plenty of photos!

I am going. I doubt there will be any Propellers there or we would have heard about them on the forum by now.

I'm definitely going to be there. I may be helping out with one of the breakout sessions at the event. If all goes well there I can bring some robots next year....

Wow so close. I found it hard to find any parallax people in the Detroit area. Met very few at local Hamfests but that is about it. Seems most robotic activitys are either Texas or California. I may check it out. There is a local hamfest in Port Huron on Aug. 8th. Ohio has some stuff going on in the fall ( hamfests). I am in Madison Hts.

There are people in the Detroit area working with Parallax products and also some that work with robotics as well. I'm in Grosse Pointe Woods and do an obsessive amount of work with robotics and regularly use Parallax products. Many of the projects were published in SERVO and one on surface mount soldering in Nuts'N'Volts. There are some others in the area (mostly in Ann Arbor) but it would be good to get more local people together sometime.

Yesterday I was at the Detroit Can-Do camp that was a pre-Maker Faire event. It was worth taking a vacation day to attend and after talking to some of the other makers there I can say that the event this weekend should be awesome!

Looks like I'll be there. Look for a white/lt blue T-shirt with "Jerry Inside" in the "Intel Inside" style. Looking for ideas for my ArtPrize rolling ball sculpture.
