Need Help with Eagle pad size

Help.

I need to be able to change the pad size for all my resistors to be larger so that it is easier to solder.
But I don't want to use a custom resistor package for each of the many resistors on the board.

What is the easiest way to change the pad size for all the 1/8 watt thru hole resistors in one go?

Thanks.

    What PCB package?

In Eagle, I just quickly checked and they are all the same sized hole. Pretty big though, almost as wide as a DIP16 pad. But there is nothing stopping you creating a new part. I did it recently for a 16 led starburst display. I looked up how to do it on Instructables.

I presume you mean Eagle since it is in the title?

I guess the other question - are you getting the PCBs made professionally, and if so, they will have a solder mask? Having soldered both bare boards and solder mask ones, I can say that I *love* solder mask.

You could edit the part and make the made size larger. If are talking about just the soldermask around the hole and the hole size is OK, then you can adjust solder mask size in the design rules. Look under the DRC, Masks tab, then review the settings for Stop. If you set a minimum/max here you will adjust the solder mask around the pads.

As in the DRC, there is a Shapes tab. You can adjust various settings here to make pads larger/smaller. I've always used my lirbary as the default, so I can't offer much advice on using these settings, but it appears that you can use it to force the pad larger (not the hole size - hole size can only be edited in the part library.)

I tried playing around with the Shapes Tab in the DRC but unfortunately all my thru hole resistor pads remained stubbornly the same size and shape.

Like Timothy said, you need to get into the library editor and change the pad size in the resistor packages you are using.· Then invoke the "Update all" command from the Library menu in the board editor.
