  For what kind of battery?
  
  I found some cheap battery holders and I'm starting to think:

  AA bateries. I could buy pre made packs like that and rip the metal out of I have to but I would prefer to buy just the metal if I can. I want to manufacture a project box with the battery compartment built in.

  Search for "Keystone" on DigiKey, then look under "Battery Accessories".

  @Mctrivia, I need your expertise. I want·combine 4 AA's· and a ULN2803 in a single enclosure. I attached a picture. The controller·connects to a stepper through a rj-11 jack. I will trim the perf board to make things as compact as possible.
  
  @Phil Pilgrim, as you can see I've got the black oxide machine screws. I had to order the terminal blocks from Gadget Gangster.

  If all you need is a box that will contain the batteries and that pcb I can make you one. If you don't need the plastic look up the pcb mount battery terminals.

  i do not yet have the custom plastic parts service up on my site. I will provide free quotes to anyone that asks.
  
  For large quantities it is cheapest to find a company that will do injection molding. You will pay a large setup fee for the molds but a very low cost per unit.
  
  I charge no setup fee but it takes a fairly long time for me to build stuff(the custom boxs for rays LCD screens take 3.5 hours) so the cost per unit is higher. Depending on accuracy needed and size my cost per unit starts at $10 each. I could build you device box with built in battery box for $15. You may be able to find an off the shelf box that may do for less.

  If you are looking for anything of volume, I have ~5k of each of these sitting in my garage. I haven't done anything with them yet due to the cost of molding plastics, plus not having a specific design that can make use of them to justify the molding. I do have some sample cases

  I attached a pic of the BS2 version of my machine. The Prop version will be a lot more compact but placement of a small enclosure for the ULN2803, batteries and an RJ11 connector will be the same. BTW I also made the foam-filled case for which my wife deserves a lot of credit. Anyway, what you don't see is that I have to unscrew the project box from the bottom of the linear slider to replace the 9V cell...a total of·four screws and two bolts.·The motor·is powered by a 12V lead acid battery which I will eliminate for·the propeller·version. I'm looking forward to a Mctrivia solution!

  how much space does your board and connectors take up? where do you have the battery located? can you give me a sketch(either 2d in paint or scanned paper or 3d in something like google sketchup)? of what you need?

  Will this do? quiet a few variables(A to J). Lid is H thick. screws in over electronics and has snap in battery lid. All values need to be in mm(Inches * 25.4). There is a 2x4mm cut going between the battery compartment and the electronics.

  'A' looks like the battery compartment. The perf board and the RJ11 connector will fit easily inside "E". I don't even need the standoffs indicated @ "K" and "L".
  
  · I would leave the configuration of the battery compartment up to you. Your expertise would be better than what I could come up with. I especially like the idea of a battery lid. I will order two if the set-up for the second box is easier. (One is fine) I can complete my prototype with what I've seen and I've started ordering supplies for two machines.

  this box was designed with a 9v battery in mind where you have a connector on the end of a wire

  no special config needed. AA batteries require chambers for the individual batteries with connectors screwed to the walls.
