1602 16x2 Character LCD Display Module Blue Blacklight.
2.99 and that includes shipping.

The ad does not say much about the unit, but there is an image.
Looks to be a standard 16 connector HD44780-based 16x2 LCD.

I'd order up a few but they won't ship them here for some reason.

If anyone bites on these post here about the quality.

    They seem to be a bit confused as to where they ship. Says they ship to "N. and S. America, Europe, Australia" and then excludes most of that. Definitely not an organization I would deal with. It's like a contract that promises the world on the cover page and then takes it all away in page after page of fine print. To their credit, at least the exclusions were in large print and easy to find.

    "Warning: Visiting this site may harm your computer!"

    Chrome doesn't like it, oddly.

    I have got them for a few days ago, and the quality is as good as the other 16x2 LCDs.

    How do you drive it? I need a lower cost solution to the 2x16 parallax LCD back lit.

    I love the hobby of electronics. Everything else in life gets more expensive every year. But this hobby gets cheaper every year!

    Re "How do you drive it? I need a lower cost solution to the 2x16 parallax LCD back lit."

    All these parallel displays use the same chip and only some slight changes in code between, say, 8x2 and 16x2 and 20x4. I have drivers for the 20x4 display for the propeller, both in spin and pasm if you need this sort of thing. The code was modified from code on the propeller Obex.

    @Todd Chapman
    This question comes up quite frequently :) Probably needs to be in a "Sticky" somewhere.
