I thought I'd see if I could hunt down a few cheap packs of breadboard wire on ebay and found this..

    The sad part is that most of the money will end up going to ebay and PayPal in their fees. Listing fee, Final Value fee, PayPal fees. Those really add up. There really don't seem to be any good ways to sell very inexpensive small items on there. It's a shame since you don't see as much of the small obscure items and parts that you used to because of all the fees...

    Seriously though, fresh cut wire, without filing will mess up a good breadboard quick.

    It is much more easier working with real jumper wire for breadbord, Sureeletronics and others on ebay has some fine breadboard wires (a pack of 30pcs 300mm, is about $5 or cheaper)

    that is funny. to think anyone would pay for cat5 cable that is pre stripped.


    lets see cat 5 is $80/1000' new and has 8 strands in it. So for $80 you get 96,000 inches or $0.00083 per inch you get 36" with the purchase so that is $0.03 so he is only over charging by 33 times its bulk price.

    Though you can usually get small chunks for free if you know who to ask since the last 20 feet in the book is pretty useless.

    I think this is a coded message being beamed into space by a very greasy, thermophilic alien race that intends to invade our planet once their ebay-based agents have set the stage.
    The first set of wires translates: "Though the earthlings remain in denial, we have succeeded in destroying their entire economic system. Piece of cake."
    The second set of wires reads: "We are now in the process of poking holes in the bottom of their oceans to release the fluids we will need to breathe. Progress with that is going swimmingly. turn.gif "

    I have a couple of 1000 foot spools of cat5. Maybe if I start cutting them up now, I can have a huge bag full of jumper wires to add to the free table at UPENE.

    Of course, then people would probably take handfuls of them to sell on ebay.

    The labor required to cut and strip the wire far outweighs the cost of the wire itself.
