Yes, I recall that pinout now - had a senior moment when I though it had fewer pins before, even tho' I knew about the power for the pin groups, etc.

Also, one bit of the pin config register decided if the digital output was done the usual way or locked to the main clock. The later mode overcomes the slight cog to cog timing variation so that all pins can toggle at exactly the same time. I think he said this was useful for SDRAM interface apps.

What a great time. It was neat finally getting to put a face with screen names on the forum. Sorry, I can’t post any pictures was too busy talking and looking at everyone else’s projects.
I would personally like to think Oldbitcolletor for organizing the event and all his helpers who set up and took down everything. I also want to thank all the sponsors and vendors for taking the time and expense to come to the event. Your generosity made for a great day and I can’t wait to next year and if all goes well I plan to be at UPENE 2010.
So much inspiration so little time!
Tony
But before·I do that, let me paint a picture for you regarding Mike's Turing machine and Nickle-o-matic.· If you have never seen them - you must make time to do so.· I don't have the links to the videos so hopefully someone can post them.· Anyway, back to the picture....
Ken and Chip's kids were there along with a few other young folks.· I would bet they spent the better part of 4 hours watching those machines run. Putting a coin in the machine, watching the nickles get printed - collecting the different ones the machine makes.· At one point, the youngest boy (not sure if he was Chip's or Ken's) was standing on a chair behind the machine reaching up as far as he could to load the blank nickles into the nickle-o-matic - if someone got a picture of that please post it - it was too darn cute!
One of the other kids was handling the raffle at the end of the evening - another enjoyable experience.· While the prizes were great, the kid (sorry I just couldn't catch all the names) was a star in the making doing the raffle.
Chris
Here are the photos I have, enjoy.

Door prize was very generous, and I was hopefully inspired to start another project with my new board.
I am thinking of extending my energy meter that I made to monitor my house's electric consumption. After seeing the "Nickel O Matic" now I'm dreaming of some sort of giant mechanical and very visual way to display wattage consumption.
Any ideas? I first thought maybe a servo with a stick for an analog meter but that's pretty simple and unexciting.

Well deserved. Another great UPE.
Thanks OBC.
I believe previous talks suggested that each group of 8 could be at any voltage 1.8 to 5.0.

Chip also expressed an interest in hydraulic actuators... so if any of you have been trying to figure out what to do next.... a project with cheap little Propcentric hydraulic actuators would be welcome:)

That's what I heard too, though much of the time during Chip's presentation I was slack-jawed with my head tilted and eyes glazed over...
