Hi all Parallaxians, I hope that you are not too tired...
It's said Behind the Scenes: Note that if the DS1620 had been previously programmed for continuous conversion (as in Experiment #29) the power must be cycled after reprogramming for one-shot mode before the DS1620 will respond properly.
Due to the (low) level of my English I can't understand what "... must be cycled..." does it mean.

    "... power must be cycled ..." refers to the power supply cycle of off / on / off. The information on "one-shot mode" is stored in a flash memory cell and is copied to a register during the power-on reset sequence. If you change the mode, you have to force the DS1620 to copy the mode to the register and the only way to do that is to turn off the power to the chip, then turn the power on again.

    I looked at the DS1620 datasheet and my explanation was not quite correct. The one-shot-mode bit and the CPU bit in the configuration register are copied to flash memory. They don't take effect until the DS1620 is turned off, then on again because they affect the DS1620's behavior from reset onwards.

    Maybe the explanation is in the lines following the note about "...power must be cycled..." page 171 (StampWorks), but to hard for me for the moment. I'll try Experiment #30 and go back to Experiment #29 and see what happens.

    I downloaded Experiment #30 with no result on Debug Terminal and just after switched Off/On temperature was displayed.

    Experiment #29 to #30 must be switched Off/On.
