Is there a good and free download of a photo editing software that can·change·pictures by adding in and taking things out of them? I've done it by manually cutting them out with Windows POJ "Paint" program, but I wish to do it with something made for this sort of thing and I have had no luck finding it. Can someone help? This is the only place I knew to ask.

Yes, Gimp (www.gimp.org) is a free, full-featured image editor. Although very powerful, its user interface can be a bit awkward at times.

And occasionally it crashes. So, save early and save often.

I hear raves about Paint.Net. With a much lower learning curve than Gimp and about as powerful

I am sold on paintshop pro for years. Even older versions work fine and easier then adobe for sure long before I got into the basic stamp thing. It has an added animation program that allows you to make short moving gif pics frame by frame.
