RMS Power Meter

I have a need to measure RMS and Instant Voltage, Current and Power in a single cog. This cog will be used among different subsystems to measure at the chip level.
Things like power consumption at the Prop(s), aux processors such as SD, sound, XMOS and ARM co-processors, etc.
At the moment it is ill-defined, such as LCD or not, RS232, shared global memory.

Any ideas? Is anything lurking in the OBEX that is mislabeled? Maybe just an analog power meter used in conjunction with a Flash data logging scheme?

There are power consumption examples of the Propeller V1 chip in the Propeller Data Sheet V1.2 available for download from the Parallax site. I am a bit confused about what you mean about "to measure at the chip level" and your reference to RMS measurement. Basically the inputs to the Propeller are high impedance and the RMS power consumption of your output depends on what you're software is sending to your peripherals. There are some nice RMS measurement conversion IC's from www.linear.com that may be worth a look, but I'm not sure about the bandwidth you need to measure at. Maybe you want to measure consumption of a different micro-controller with the propeller? It might just be me, but IMHO a better description of what you need to do would help us.

I haven't understood clearly your targets but for power mesuring you can use this simultaneus sampling ADC from TI. ST has also a nice energy meter IC.
