It's not working.......

My SX isn't working....· I have no idea what it could be that is causing it not to work....

My setup is just a breadboarded SX chip with a 10k pull up resistor on the mclr, and have the sx powered with 3.3 volta, and have it connected to the sx blitz.

Any tips on troubleshooting or what my problem could be?

Thanks,

Forest

    Describe the failure you're encountering.

I know that 3V3 is "in range", but I'd stay with 5V for the present.· At any rate, verify it with a voltmeter.

Use the circuit depicted in the datasheet and double-check your wiring, then check it again.

You've probably already checked his but I'll "through this out"
    ·
You said you are using a bread board, so that suggests that you are using the DIP version of the SX28.
    ·
So make sure that you followed the correct pin out, DIP and SSOP versions are pinned out differently.

Aha! I had the pull-up resistor on the RTCC pin instead of the MCLR pin... smile.gif It works now!

PJ has a point too in case you have issues again…3.3V on a breadboard is a little tricky and can cause the SX to not respond properly. If it’s working now you’re probably okay, but we have seen posts from those running 3.3V on the bread board and having issues. Take care.
