Gadget Gangster is going to start carrying Jon Williams' Propeller Platform - we'll have initial stock in a few weeks, but I also have a spare prototype pcb that I'd like to give away. Since I only have 1, I had to cook up a little contest to give it away - more info here, but to enter:

Between now and 11:59pm PDT, August 9th, send an email to info@gadgetgangster.com with the subject line "Platform Giveaway". In your email, include a short (1 paragraph) description of what project you'd like to do with the module. On August 10th, we'll take a look at all the entries, and award a Propeller Platform PCB with all the components to the designer with the coolest project idea. But consider your entry carefully! We'll only accept one entry per person, per day.

Thanks! Jon did an awesome job with these boards. He's is also going to use these modules in his articles, so I think designers will really benefit from his documentation.

Once the modules are in stock, they'll also be added to our inventory and you can use them for entering our designer competition, too.

Finally! The winner has been announced along with another giveaway for an LCD UI Module, and more documentation on the Propeller Platform.

Let me know if you have any questions!

I would have entered, but my lame answer would have been to "follow along with the article."
So I second the question: Will these be on sale at the Expo? :)

    OBC,

That was exactly my lame answer! I didn't win either. I do want it exactly for that reason though!

Thanks Nick at Gadget Gangster for giving us a chance to win one - even though you know we are going to buy one. turn.gif Congratulations to Shawn too.

Ha! Well, I'm also giving away an LCD UI board, with the same criteria. Maybe you can think of something to do with that?

It will be close, but I should have modules in time for the expo.

My idea was to use the Propeller platform to create a cylinder head temperature system to monitor the engine temp. on a old VW bus I would like to rebuild. I also wanted to setup some kind of system to tell me when to do engine maintenance.

I should have requested permission to publish the submitted ideas :-(. There were quite a few really good ideas submitted.
