DB-9 Serial Port

On the Propeller products with a DB-P Serial Port, like the PropRPM or the original PropSTICK, can the standard Parallax Serial to USB converter be used? Or is is a different pin arrangement?

I couldn't find the answer with the stuff I have here.

I just ran a serial Propstick through the Parallax USB-Serial converter: worked fine.

    Hi Whit,

I'm alway getting the two USB to serial adapters mixed up, so you sent me on a mission.

Answer to the original question: Quote Parallax on Part# 28031: "This adapter works with all of our products. If you don't have a serial port on your machine, this is an easy solution."

This is the one I use to program all my Basic Stamp boards.

I printed out·out all the older PDF's for the original PropStick, (Phil did you get ride of all of those, or feed them to the cat?) ,and PropRPM,and matched the pin numbers and they should all line up with the 28031 device.

I kept asking myself, what would I use Part# 28024·? I now realize it could be use for all sorts of·stuff.

Thanks for sending me on this journey of knowledge.

    @ sylvie369 - great - thanks!

@ hover1 - thanks also - I have one of Phil's Serial PropStick kit and was going to put it together for fun. Good to know I can use the adapter. I think Phil still has a few - I guess the cats weren't that hungry.

What would you use the Part# 28024 for? I was looking at that today too!

I thought about trying to set up a Propstick to work with the Propplug (which I have a couple of). I wondered how is 28024 different from the PropPlug or is it a customizable PropPlog?
