How long are forum posts retained?

Hi All,
been away a while, which is the way it goes for me.· Was wondering if posts in all the forum sections have a 'delete' or 'archive' date... in other words, how long are the posts kept online and active?· As drive space is cheap these days, I am hoping it's near forever?
thanks,
Howard in Florida

well, 2004 to today is as 'near' forever as I could hope for.
> Microsoft will sunset the underlying technology. When that happens, the migration to the new site is going to be an interesting exercise
Well, FWEIW: consider an out-of-the-box linux-based server. Having done a far amount of web stuff on both platforms, I can confidently say that you do get what you pay for - paying for it either in time or money. Considering time is MORE valuable than money, and that linux setups can be a real time waster, it's about a wash at this point. However, if you have a reasonably skilled linux hacker hiding in the closet, it might be well worth dropping Bill for the Penguin ;-P ... I have been slowly migrating from MS to Vector Linux. BTW - and this is really taking the tagent here - I'd love to see more support for linux for parallax products (just my 2c) ... there are a TON of linux coders who also like electronics and electrical engineering, not to mention the acedemics, who might venture over here ... ahh, but yes, there's sooo much to do, and little time and help ... KUDOS to you all on the new SX compiler !
thanks again,
- H
