PIR Sensor & Ableton Live

Hi Everyone,

I'm pretty new to the parallax forum, but was wondering if there were any tutorials available that would show me how to hook up a PIR sensor to send midi signals to an outside midi software such as ableton live?

    The PIR is either on or off, is this what you want to send? You will need a microcontroller to send midi I would think.

    You could probably simulate a signal by replacing some input to the program (ableton live?) with the PIR. For example, take off the F4 key from your keyboard (or any other key...) and replace it electrically with the PIR, and tell the computer program what to do when F4 is pressed. It's certainly a hack, but probably the simplest one.
