ENC28J60 Recommendation
Hey folks...
My apologies if this discussion has already been beat to death, but I'm wondering if someone can recommend an ENC28J60 module that would work good with the existing objects?
I see quite a few of them with varying price ranges, and am not sure which one would be best.· This module would be for completing development of a DNS resolver...future ones will likely be built completely onboard the appliance I'm working on...
I'd prefer a module (or at least kit with all components and PCB included) so I can finish up my code as quickly as possible.
Thanks,
Scott

You might have already seen the PropTCP project, however just in case I thought I woud mention it:

[Edit:] The above mentioned PropNIC is designed to work with the PropTCP code.
I have seen a few other (some of them Arduino shields) that use the ENC28J60.·
I ran across this Modtronix module as well:

I inserted a note on my website, but it's on the policies page and it's possibly overlooked.
I will solder and test any kits before shipping for a modest charge. So never let lack of soldering skills or equipment stop you from trying any of my kits.
I see quite a few of these ENC28J60 modules available now. Most are preassembled surface mount with a small footprint compared to the PropNIC. I don't want to take this thread too far off topic, but would you all prefer a preassembled PropNIC, something small, or you you prefer in it's current form? I recently purchased equipment for assembling SMT PCBs, so this is now a possibility.

Got an SD card connected? - PropDOS
I can vouch for the build quality of the pre-assembled pieces (see attached).
I was lucky enough to get one of the first batch (pre-assembled) SD·interface cards from uController/parts-man73.· I would bet that if you ordered one if the NIC cards and had it assembled you would get the same kind of quality.· I need to order one of the NIC cards myself actually (I haven't yet).
I just ordered a batch of the SD card adapters that is redesigned using all surface mount components (except the headers) now that I have SMT soldering equipment and stencils, I should be able to spend less time soldering, and more time making new designs.
Thanks for the input guys! It looks like the general consensus is to leave the PropNIC as is, so be it.
