Ideal Screen
Well, I decided to get the Hydra with this weekends special. My question is what is the ideal screen to use with the propeller? I'm looking to buy something small (<10") since space is limited. What should I look for? I've never worked with displays before, so any guidance would be appreciated.

I use a VGA flatscreen for my VGA debugging and a portable DVD w/AVin (picked up off Fleabay for $11 with a broken mech.)

Whichever is easier to implement in code. I don't really mind what type, as long as it can work with all the projects in the Hydra Book. I suspect that they'll mention something, but I haven't received the package yet :(

Oddly there is no manual posted on the site for this product. Would be great if someone could post some pictures of Hydra generated graphics on this little screen!
By the way...Almost all the Hydra demos are for NTSC...I've only read the first 650 pages of the book thus far, but I don't see any easy way to convert NTSC code to VGA. It's not like a compile time option, it will take significant work I think. So I'd suggest a NTSC display if you plan to use it with Hydra.

DVD players with A/V in (as OBC mentioned) are also a good way to go as well (as long as the screen and inputs work).
With the change over to digital format, you might happen upon a TV (without digital tuner) that you could also get. Maybe bigger than any workspace you might have though.

and specifically...

...which is a nice one

and I'll see how that goes. Another screen that I may try out is the one from BG micro:

I also made a display from an one of my children's broken DVD players. You can see how it looks at the following post on my blog. This is, of course, composite video.

Let me know how your display from Brilldea works out. It sure looks good in the pics.
