  I use a VGA flatscreen for my VGA debugging and a portable DVD w/AVin (picked up off Fleabay for $11 with a broken mech.)

  Whichever is easier to implement in code. I don't really mind what type, as long as it can work with all the projects in the Hydra Book. I suspect that they'll mention something, but I haven't received the package yet [noparse]:([/noparse]

  I am also interested in a small display... anyone have any luck with the 3.5" LCD from Parallax on a Prop or Hydra system?

  Oddly there is no manual posted on the site for this product. Would be great if someone could post some pictures of Hydra generated graphics on this little screen!
  
  
  
  By the way...Almost all the Hydra demos are for NTSC...I've only read the first 650 pages of the book thus far, but I don't see any easy way to convert NTSC code to VGA. It's not like a compile time option, it will take significant work I think. So I'd suggest a NTSC display if you plan to use it with Hydra.

  I used to use an Intec 5.4" LCD gaming screen (originally for the XBOX consoles) which is an NTSC display. There are quite a few LCD gaming screens with composite video input.
  
  DVD players with A/V in (as OBC mentioned) are also a good way to go as well (as long as the screen and inputs work).
  
  With the change over to digital format, you might happen upon a TV (without digital tuner) that you could also get. Maybe bigger than any workspace you might have though.
