Prop Plug Scores Kudos w/Wife

Just got my new prop plug from UPS today (poor guy had to deliver in pouring down rain, but I got my new toy!). I opened it up and the first reaction from the wife was "oh that is so cute", so big props to design on this guy. Wow, some of those surface mount chips are so small I had to break out the jeweler loupe just to read what they were. The whole thing is TINY - barely larger than a header or the usb plug itself. Now to start blinking LED's cool.gif

    Always cool to have the wife on board. My wife does her best to be supportive in my hobbies to the point where I have been able to use her help on several projects even though she still thinks I am just playing with geek toys. Check out the cake she made recently for my boss's birthday......

    That cake is AMAZING!!! And the toroid inductor is really the icing on ... well ... you know!

    Yes, fully RoHS compliant. It was actually made and eaten just a few miles from Parallax HQ. We got the idea from the Evil Mad Scientist Laboratory: www.evilmadscientist.com/article.php/circuitsnacks

    I have always felt that regardless of how sophisticated the "hobby", the parts should display some sort of friendliness to bring in new people to the hobby. The propeller logo definitely lends this feature to the whole line of products. If it looks like a PCB that's on the space shuttle, a lot of potential newbies would be lost.
    My 2 and 4 line LCDs seem to get a lot of attention from friends/family as well because they are so widely used in consumer products. My PSoC first touch kits also look very "user friendly".

    You guys are so lucky to have those women in your lives. I can't even get a girlfriend to last a couple of months of my techno babble.

    And I would pay top dollar for a birthday cake like that, if I celebrated mine, lol.
