BS2SX OEM using 50 MHz crystal
Hello from O A Ardali,
I have a supply of 50 MHz X-tals which I would like to use instead of the Parallax supplied 50 MHz resonators in a functional BS2SX OEM circuit embeded into my design. The BS2SX uses interpreter chips provided after July 2007. I have tried the X-tals with several capacitor values between 5-22 pF (connected to Vdd and X0 - X1 pins of the PBasic2SX/P) without success. Can anyone suggest the capacitor values that should be used ?

The firmware for the interpreter specifies the parameters (such as gain) for the SX Chip to drive the resonator. Most likely these parameters are not compatible with the crystals you are using. Series resonant crystals are not recommended for the SX Chip as well. I hope this helps. Take care.
