Department of Homeland Security announce a new non leathel weapon. What do you do, just shine it in·the enemy's·eyes? Wouldn't a strong torch be cheaper? lol.gif

Hey, I may try to build one, anyone know the frequency? Some French military research 40 years ago found an audio·frequency below 20Hz disturbed some humans, but not everyone.

Oh well, those of us from Africa will never understand!smhair.gif

This thing interacts with the visual system causing disorientation and the nausea comes from that. The frequency is individual which is why this has to sweep over a range.

There's an article recently in Scientific American that discusses micro-saccades ... the little movements that our eyes do all the time. I suspect that these reflex movements are tied into how this gadget works.

Boy, I can see this and other "non-lethal" devices like the millimeter wavelength transmitter that causes intense burning sensations as great torture tools. You can severely torture crowds at a distance, don't have to touch them, and there's not a mark on them ... no lingering proof.

    John,
When we have a world where torture is regularly done in the name of security and peace, how much more frightening, more easily applied, and with less outcry will it be when there are no physical signs of it and when it can be done to crowds at a distance.

    Mike,
Agreed on all fronts ... hardly bears thinking about does it ? How long before these methods (or similar) 'progress' (regress)·to become lethal ...

    Mike,
I agree, the potential for abuse is unimaginable.

I seem to remember something in an old document I read once about "cruel and unusual punishment", but I'm sure that doesn't apply in today's world.

I'm pretty sure death is a physical sign that something is happening.

I would love to change the world, but they won't give me the source code

People say that if you play Microsoft CD's backwards, you hear satanic things, but that's nothing, because if you play them forwards, they install Windows.

I spent a minute looking at my own code by accident. I was thinking "What the heck is this guy doing?"

Mind you, I've often seen what the good old bush knife or what we call a panga will do. It's not pretty, it beats most modern alternatives. This knowledge makes what I read about the LRA in Uganda much more disgusting.

What's most interesting though are your comments above and those we hear from so many of the new breed of intelligent educated people throughout the world. From the USA to Uganda, from Switzerland to South Africa, people are starting to say “ENOUGH!!!”.

But, unlike the Hippy era where the youth chose to work outside the system, this time you, the younger generation are working inside it. Let’s watch this one.

Due to AIDS and violence, our life expectancy in South Africa is down to under 50 years. - I've already lived 5 years on borrowed time.
