charging circuit for a NMH battery

Has anyone out there hade to incorporate a charging circuit for a NMH battery using ether a SX or a basic stamp? I would be really interested in seeing the circit and code if it exists.

    a simple resistor and diode is all that i use in my projects to charge my NiMH batteries
