I just got a SX programming kit a couple days ago.. I'm noticing that the SX-Key gets kinda hot to the touch while I'm using it though.

It's working fine so far and haven't had problems.

I was just wondering if I should be concerned or is that normal?

I think it depends on how fast your running it. I use mine alot at 50MHz and it gets warm but not hot. I think it's normal to run warm at the higher speeds.

I had this problem too when i first got my sx-key. so I contacted parallax and they said send it back, they checked it out, and said theres nothing wrong with it, and tried to charge me for it.

I was pretty mad because no one really told me what the normal temp of the key was supposed to be. Or made any attempt to troubleshoot it with me. I ended up paying for half the cost of the sx-key, but ended up getting a free one in the process. So in the end I got 2 sx-keys for the price of 1 & 1/2.

Basically I found that the sx-key is pretty warm when in use, but never gets so hot that you can't put your finger on it constantly.

It should never get too hot to touch.
