Not detecting the BASIC Stamp

The program will not detect the stamp. Says "No BASIC Stamps found". It's connected and it says it detects loopback and echo but not the stamp. I checked and the stamp is in right.

    Hello,

    Are you connecting via USB or Serial? Are you using a USB to Serial Adapter? Is the computer a Desktop or Laptop?

    I've tried both usb and the other connector. I have the drivers installed. I'm using the board of education and it's a desktop.

    So it sounds like you have a Serial BOE? How are you powering the BASIC Stamp? If by battery have you tried a fresh battery?
