I thought I would post·a few pics on some things I've been working on.

Thanks to all those that patiently answered all of my questions pertaining to Electronics and Programming.

Everything was done by me even the tedious SMT Soldering.. :)

The sensor array board looks quite intriguing. Can you tell us more about it?

Well Phil I was thinking it would be nice if I could create an Array of Sonar sensors that would send pertinate information·back to the host. I'm not 100% sure of what I'll me able to squeze out of the SX 48 , but so far it's working well... It's designed for 8 Sensors but I've only had 4 hooked up on my first prototype. My goal is to Range all 8 sensors every 250ms and depending on their reading prioritize them... so if The front sensor detects something really close it might range every 10 Ms and the other 7 have a lower priority. i've been working on this for some time now... an hour here and·an hour there. (I'm not sure how this is all going to work) but I've debugged the hardware now I need to concentrate on the Software.

My board is single sided with about 8 jumper wires.· It this works well I will pay for a double sided board to be made.

    Thanks for asking.

    Eric

Some progress on my Sensor Array... Pictures are a little grainy... Sorry.

Eventually it will have 8 Sensors... So far it's all coming together nicely.
    Best Regards,
    Eric

ok, Last night was a lot of fun, I have all 8 sensor locations working as expected...Since I only have·4 sensors I had to unplug and move them around.. It's actually pretty configurable.·

Since I can only range 20 times a second· ( 50mS ) I need a way to prioritize the ranging of the sensors. Because with 8 sensors connected I only Range Each·@ 2.5 Hz.

I've been toying with this for a few weeks now... I was using the SX-28 but it didn't have enough Ram for Arrays... so I redesigned for the SX48.

I want to sort them based on which one is detecting the closest object and Range accordingly... If The Front sensor has the closet detection range·I want it to range·more frequently than say the right side sensor which is detecting the futhest range.

    to the drawing board

Sailerman what are those sensors? Proximity using sound or IR?
