Has anyone tried Stamp Editor or the Propeller Tool with Windows Vista to see if they will run?

Sid

Thanks, Bean.· I asked Chris Savage about it and he said he just didn't know, so I thought I'd ask on the forum.· Have you had any problems at all with Vista - System Restore, Standby, networking, etc.?

The stupid "Hold'em" game that came in on an "update" is very distracting. I also find the Mahjong (spelling) game a bit of a time sinkhole.

More on point to your question:

I initially had problems in that my sound card wasn't recognized. The first round of "updates" took care of that.

I also have a Logitech BlueTooth keyboard, numeric keypad and mouse. All are working fine and connected, but not via the Bluetooth interface. I don't care about Bluetooth for the keyboards and mouse, but would like to get teh Bluetooth protocol fired up for a couple other things. I really haven't put much effort into getting it (Bluetooth) to work yet.

All the other stuff (so far) seems to work fine, including Video, network printers, etc.

    Sid,

Actually we haven’t tested any of the software yet Sid. Vista just came out and we will need some time to get a machine with Vista running so we can start testing. Officially we’re currently supporting Windows XP/2000. We cannot guarantee operation on any other platform until we can verify it via testing.

I'm using the stamp editor with Vista and I've had no problems yet. In fact, it works better for me on Vista than it did on XP. On the XP machine the editor will not start unless the machine has been re-booted recently, so far on Vista it has started every time.

    Hi all,

I'm running the BASIC Stamp Windows Editor under Vista and it's perfectly well. In fact, several engineers at Microsoft have been using it under Vista for the past half of a year. Haven't tried our other software yet.

    Hello to the group...

I plan to evaluate Parallax's Boe-Bot Kit for Microsoft Robotics Studio
under the new MS Vista PC operating system. I understand that the Boe-Bot
has an Embedded Blue transceiver for Blue tooth onboard as described at
    http://www.parallax.com/detail.asp?product_id=30068. Please advise of any
MS Vista related technical difficulties that you may foresee me
encountering. Also, I have been unable to locate a MS Vista compatible
Bluetooth USB adapter to communicate with the Embedded Blue transceiver.
D-link, Linksys, etc. don't yet have anything ready. Do any of you Vista
operators know of supported USB adapters?

Thanks for your help and looking forward to hearing from anyone in the
    group,

    Don

p.s. I'm new to Robotics and anxious to receive my new Parallax bot this

There are some issues to be aware of when running Visual Studio 2005 on Vista.

Here is a link to more info:
