selecting componets

Greetings,

I am using a force torque sensor by AMTI- MC1, and would like to get suggestions in how to read the data from the sensor and transfer it to a laptop via wireless.
The sensor has an excitation of 10 Volts or less. Do I need to provide any additional information to get suggestions on selecting somponents?

Thanks

This is a support forum for Parallax microcontrollers and their accessories. I suggest you contact the manufacturer for further information on signal conditioning and processing. They recommend using their own amplifiers prior to digitization. If you already have appropriate signal conditioning, I suggest you download and look at Parallax's Stamps in Class tutorials here (www.parallax.com/html_pages/edu/curriculum/sic_curriculum.asp). The "Basic Analog and Digital" tutorial discusses converting analog signals to digital using Parallax's microcontrollers. These can also communicate with a laptop via Bluetooth or xBee and a virtual com port. There are programs like Selmaware's (www.selmaware.com/) Stamp Plot Pro which can take commands and data from a com port and plot and/or store the received data.

Thanks for the reply! I will be using Parallax for all of my components except for the sensor. So, if I understand correctly, once I amplify the analog signal, then I can use Parallax

    to complete my system?

    Thanks
