Compass module leveling apparatus

Is anyone aware of a weighted gimbal that may help keep the compass chip level? I’m building a GPS guided hobby-scaled-boat and have rigged a one-axis weighted swivel that helps a lot, but perhaps needs a two-axis to allow more accurate sampling.

The only ones I found were large, expensive, heavy and for marine applications. smhair.gif

    I've seen cupholders for boats that are two axis. You might modify one of those.

    HI

    You could even reuse the gimbal of a broken magnetic compass for boats. i.e. for loosing the liquid, wich is the most common compasses failure.
    should be easy to find some in shipyard stores.....................
