I just love the SXes. They are so tough.
I mistakenly put 9volts DC to one [pluged in my supply on the regulated side of the power.

It still programed, so I figured I would try it any way [the rated limit is 7 volts DC].
It ran fine for about 6 hours before acting strangely.

Everything else I have would have quit post haste.· I've made similar mistakes with my BS2's and have yet to damage one permanently. [knock on wood]

I have to admit....if it doesn't literally blow up, I figure I didn't push it hard enough!
It's kind of wuss when it doesn't let the smoke go!

    George,

if you like, please dig down to one of my very first posts in this forum, called "SXploded" - this pictures an SX after the supply pins have been directly connected to a 220V AC outlet smile.gif .

I think I might be getting close to wearing mine out by reprograming it to often.smilewinkgrin.gif

    Geez Gunther,

220V !!! Don't you think that is pushing the datasheet a little! smile.gif

Did it run REALLY fast!!! (i.e. the speed of lightning and sparks)

    John,

(un)fortunately, it was not me who applied the 220V AC to the SX - it was one of my customers. You are da..ed right, this must have pushed the datasheet a little! I'm pretty sure that it worked REALLY fast but I assume not over 20 ms smile.gif .
