I've seen PCBs that have some filled holes in them. Is this where they program the chips? Is there a way to attach headers pins to this temporarily without soldering?
If you use the proper drill size, you can stick a 4 square post header in so the corners slightly wedge themselves in making a sure contact but allow later removal of the header. As an alternative, you can use wedge probes which are inserted between the pins of the chip.
For SX programmingI just put four header holes on·each board near the chip.·Then, when I'm ready to program,·I put one end of a four-pin header into the key and plug the other end of the header into the·four board·holes at enough of an angle so it makes a good temporary contact and download the code.
