Ping BOE Jumper

The Ping instructions say use the Boe jumper set to VDD or you can damage the Ping Unit.

The BOE robotiscs Book says set the jumper to Vin to use the servos.

What if you want to use the servos and the Ping?

And Where can I find a succint explanation of the jumper and the difference between VDD and Vin
If you are just using the 6V battery pack does it actually make a difference what it is set to?

    Matt,

·· Vin = whatever voltage you have going into the BOE-Bot.· Normally that is around 6V.· Now Vdd is always 5V, which is what the PING))) requires, and what the servos will work just fine with.· Basically if you didn't need 5V from the Servo Headers you could use the Vin setting and get slightly more juice for your servos.· But since you want to connect the PING))) there you use Vdd and everybody gets 5V and is happy.

Like Chris said, you could simply use breadboard area and a three pin male-male header.
