hi everyone.please help me why we use two ir emitters (ir led) instead of one ir emitter to design any ir remote control. .

What is the most frequently used ir coding format (RC5, SIRC...) ?
furthermore, can we add a few different ir coding formats in one remote control device that we create by using microcontroller such as 16f877, 18f452 or 18f442...
