  I don't know the answer to the TV question, but the post in the "Robotics" forum (Title: DARPA GRAND CHALLANGE) has a link to the Challange web site.

  I just read in the newspaper where the next DARPA is going to have a huge course and a $2,000,000USD prize. It appears that this years was much more sucessful that the previous year.
  
  The Defense Dept. or DOD wants to use it to develop a 'robot army'.
  
  By the way, if you are trying to get into the DARPA- Parallax just annouced a SX/B contest for 2006. It is a good starting point.

  CarTV has some good streaming videos on the current Darpa Grand Challenge. Check out this link for a video about GhostRider (the motorcycle). The rest of the page should guide you to the rest of the videos.
