hi all,
is there any reason why i cant use 12 vt dc in to the sx48 proto ? its silk masked 6-9, but i'm developing a 12 vt application, and will be using 12 vt ssr's also
the schematic shows 6-30 vts

also i need a low cost way to boost the 12 vts to 24 vts , low ma to power a sensor. any ideas ?

thanks,
dan

The regulator can handle 12 volts without any problem -- just remember that Vin will be 12 volts and you don't want to use that to drive servos.

For boosting 12 v to 24v try google and search for voltage doubler

There is a nice little voltage doubler schematic that uses a 555 timer, but I suspect that it doesn't get the power you want. You might have to find a way to amplify it's timer output pulse before driving the pulse through the diodes and capacitor.

In turn, you might find yourself having to triple the voltage to deal with voltage drops in the amplifier stage.

Is this too conceptual? Do you want a small chip or a schematic?

the sensor draws approx 130 ma @24 vdc when its powered up, should be able to use a small onboard doubler, have seen some with google....

this is a linear magnflux transducer, senses position from interaction with a nearby magnets field, and sends out the time dependant pulse for it, ---|___________|

uses the falling edge , im researching using the sx48's 16 bit timer to give me some resolution..... the only problem so far is the examples are all in assembly, and i've been going at SX/B.... so its like a monkey looking at a piece of paper , knowing theres a banna there , but just not able to read....tongue.gif takes time
