My Boe_bot is pretty darn slow and i would like some more speed for future robotics projects. Besides making the wheels bigger, how can i get more speed? Do I just need to buy different servos?
Try adding an extra AA battery or two... you will shorten the life of the servo because you are giving it more power than it is designed for, but you will get more speed.
Bigger wheels will also increase speed, but it will thow the BOE-Bot off balance since the rear skid wheel can't be adjusted up or down to accomodate larger wheels.
Before making any hardware changes, are you sure you're using the best PULSOUT values to get the most speed from the servo?· If you're using too small of values the servos won't be running at full speed.· Also be sure you have the proper PAUSE duration for your loop.

Thanks for the replies, pulsout and pause values are not my problem, done lots of testing, i think the servos are just really slow, even in the videos online it is slow. I was just wondering how to make a faster robot (not specifically my boe-bot), can this be done with different servos? or will i have to use just dc motors?
DC Motor, PWM, H-Bridge, and optical shaft encoder. Servos were designed to adjust control surfaces on model airplanes, and as such they were designed for accurate operation not speed.
