Basic Stamp Schematic
The latest software for expresspcb (www.expresspcb.com) has the BS1, BS2, and
BS2p40 in the express schematic library.

I agree, the price is high if you want silkscreening. I never use it though.
What I will do (space permitting) is to put text (as a trace) on the board.

Yes there is. We offer a complete PCB design and manufacturing service and
our prices are competitive. Please let me know exactly what you are looking
for and i will be happy to provide you with a quotation. I look forward to
hearing from you.

store and get "water slide" paper. You can print on it with a laser printer
and make a decal like you put on model cars, airplanes, etc. Of course the
legend will be black but very sharp. The decal is very thin so component
leads push right through it and the plastic vaporizes under heat so if you
have any top-side soldering it will still work.
This is a real life saver when you have had 500 boards made and they forgot
to image the silk screen layer :-) Um, not that I've ever done that, no no!
I'll deny it to the end.
If you are highly motivated, get time on an ALPS printer which can print in
white. There are ink jet water slide papers too but I haven't tried them.

probably not. PC boards are pretty much sold by the square inch.
$1.00 a square inch is really a low cost.
Olimex http://www.olimex.com/pcb/ offers a $34.00 special for one
board. 2to3- week delivery. (mail) but they will put 2 of your
boards on it, IF you supply good Gerber files.
The problem is that it takes someone an hour to make a board, or a
LOT of money to buy a machine to do it faster.
The cheapest way is to home brew, but the results are often less than
desirable the first few times out.
