Bad Prop Plug E?

I purchased a Prop Plug E a week ago and was using it with the Edge bread board with no problems. I unplugged from the computer then plugged it back in and got a unrecognized usb device error.
I tried installing the Dell authorized FTDI driver and it did show a usb comm port in the hardware manager but when I unplugged it then plugged it back in I got the error again.
I then used the CDM uninstaller to remove all FTDI devices. I then plugged in my old Demo board without installing any ftdi drivers and it found a comm port in the Hardware Manager but when I put the Prop Plug back in I got the error again. I'm using Windows 11 24H2.
Also while I was using it I had one of those cheap china usb logic scopes running Logic 2.
Has it gone bad or is there some conflict with the driver?

What USB connector is needed for the version E? I want to buy another USB cable as a backup. I have an older version of the prop plug and that has a different connector which I have plenty of cables for.
Use charging cables.

Thanks. I would be careful about using charging cables. I believe that some have no data lines. When I was testing cables only one of the four micro b cables I have worked.
The data wires are needed to negotiate for high power modes so they're not going to be much use for fast charging without the data wires.
Thank you for the clarification evanh. The three cables that didn't work look like cheap cables. Much smaller in diameter.
I build my own prop plugs and still use the FT232, I can buy four each modules from Amazon for $8. I desolder the FT232 IC and solder them to my own prop boards, and still use the USB mini B, rather than bending to the euro USB C standard.
