Chip has shown that during the live forum.

Yes, that is EXACTLY what I am after. unfortunately both videos 'hang' for me at inopportune moments..
Chip's one cog solution is compelling and the simple explanation gave me dangerous ideas. Perhaps I can get a copy of the code from support...
This also made me take another look at StepDirGen in the OBEX (@ManAtWork), which would let me just throw position targets every millisecond or so, which simplifies the problem considerably.

Brilliant indeed.. but not an 'S' curve. Thanks!

What shape would you call it?

  • Oh.. I guess it was too brilliant for me! Thanks! by far the best solution I can lay hands on today. Including my nascent attempt.

Ok, so That looks really good, but I just downloaded Small Basic to play with it easily and there are difficulties, Your code looks perfectly understandable and runnable to me, but MS Small basic disagrees in ways that make no sense.. is there something special about your settings or maybe some 'other' small basic?

Ok, Smallbasic is NOT Microsoft Small Basic.. The world makes sense again..

    Thanks Much @Mickster

    :D

A common problem which is why my screen grab included the icon.

This is an interpreter but can be "packaged" to a .exe

    Huh?

    Is this yours or mine?

I swiped it from the code window in the link you provided in your first answer. The one where I looked at the deceptively simple math and the title including 'trapezoidal' then concluded this wasn't an "S" curve... ;)
    Magritte would be proud!
