New(ish) user of this forum is looking for a bit of searching assistance.

I am looking for a way to search this forum for posts about various topics. My problem seems to be that if I search for a word or phrase, it searches the entire forum. If I pick a category, I am limited to browsing the whole category. If I try to search for something specific within the category, I get results from the whole forum again. I'm probably just not doing it correctly.

How do I search for something like "eeprom" in the "propeller 1" category, for example?

    No, you're doing nothing wrong, the forum search just sucks.

    Try google searches with site:parallax.com, that's usually more fruitful (though I find some threads aren't indexed at all).

    Or just ask whatever it is in a new thread. If the answer is obscure enough to not come up on google, it's probably worth it.

    Thanks for such a prompt response. I kind of thought it was the forum "infrastructure.

    I'll put some kind of question on the forum when I figure out how best to ask it.
