Question is...

In the attached pic does the first scenario increase the torque more than the second (original) one??

The green and yellow hubs are attached to each other.

    Do those shaded areas represent chain/belt drives? If so, the answer is yes. You have a speed reducer/torque amplifier.

    This is a gear box. In every stage the speed is reduced by the relation of wheel diameters. Multi stages have to be multiplied. Inverse to the reduced speed the torque is increased

    Yes, torque is ~3X higher (and RPM ~3X lower) in the first one compared to the second one. That guestimate is based on your graphic image, which shows the green gear is ~3X the diameter of the yellow gear.

    Thank you I'll go ahead and try this then. Its a bit of work but if it turns the 12 inch wheels it will be worth it. If you open the pic instead of trying to just view the thumbnail you can read my labels. Speed is not important as long as it moves.

    Ideally, you would select a ratio whereby the maximum required output speed requires maximum rated motor speed.
