Waldo 2009 - 2013

...sigh...
He was with us for shy of a year.
Feline leukemia presented its nasty self over the weekend and he went quickly & quietly.
I will miss him very much.

I never kept many pictures, but I have one where she was peering down at me from on top of the fridge. I get it out sometimes and I remember good times. He looks like a really cool cat. I'm sorry you are experiencing this.
I hate it, but I found out I hate not having animals to share life with more. What I like the most is they are honest and pure and that makes their affection special. Think of the good things. The worst pain will pass. Every day gets better.

I think it was when Browser died I said to my wife, "Those guys on the forum sure like their cats. It almost makes me want to get one." My wife is not a cat person (her brother is allergic and it was her job to chase away the neighborhood cats) and the look she gave me make be very quickly repeat the "almost" part of my sentence.
Anyhow, I sometimes feel like I'm missing out one some aspect of life my fellow forumistas are enjoying.
Waldo and all the other cats I've seen on the forum look like very nice companions.
I hope you're doing well Dave.
I'd be lying if I said I didn't bawl like a baby when Waldo passed, or sob my eyes out while walking around the office building during lunch today...or having the tears well up when reading your responses. Thank you again.
The hardest thing about this, is...he's just...<gone>. He was here and seemingly doing fine, and then...just <gone>. He was a strong cat and showed no immediate bodily signs that something was wrong. The lack of water and food intake is what caused me to call the vet. And 24 hours after the initial vet visit, <gone>.
I think any pet can embed themselves into our lives in ways that are only understood after they leave us.
He was such a good boy.
The strength of the bonds that some people can have with animals amazes me. I'm one of those people that seem very susceptible to animals and their companionship and trust and love to the point where I find it hard to understand how other people can be so cruel to animals.
Is sad to loose an animal. We do get so close to them. When my Mum passed had to take her two big dogs to live with us.
I was reminded this week that tell the person by the animals we keep. We had the small Russell as our dog. All can be spoilt
and is fine with us. Pets give to people they like. If had not had two Lurcher or Greyhound type dogs we would have had a cat.
Things do pass, and in time we tend to just think of the good times we have shared. Certainly was a blessing to be able to take
on my Mums two dogs.
Sorry to inline a picture, and not seem able to delete it. Bad marks for me again!
Mike.
