It's kind of iffy, but it should work as long as there's not a lot of other stuff attached to the BoE. My PINK draws about 400-450 mA, but it's kind of old, maybe newer ones use less power? Expect the regulator on the BoE to get pretty warm.
I bought a pre-made power supply board on eBay and put it in a cheap aluminum box and used that to power everything. It cost around $35 total, including the digital meter and transformer. You could get by with a lot less, maybe just a decent quality regulated 5 volt (800 - 1000 mA) wall wart. If you can find one.
