I'm guessing no one that builds Wii controllers in China ever actually used one...

So I'm getting ready to restock my Wii Nunchuck controllers from China tonight when I see this..
Love HK.. Gotta watch those guys sometimes..

Jeff, You probably already know this but some generic game controllers use lower resolution ADC chips than the originals. The lower res values are then scaled up to output the same range of values but with rather large steps between each possible value they output.
For example the PS2 controller SparkFun sells only have 5-bits of resolution on their joysticks instead of 8-bits like the original controller. IIRC a generic Nunchuck I have has less resolution on their accelerometers than the original Wii Nunchuck.
This might be something worth checking on game controllers you plan to stock.
It's just possible you have been holding your controller wrong all this time.

I can't even interest Taiwanese in hobby electronics. Often they consider it a waste of money and time.
In sum, the world is divided between consumers and producers - very different points of view.
Maybe it was an Asian that first said 'A penny saved is a penny earned.'
On the upside, this is one of the cheapest "hobby friendly" accelerometers I've ever seen.
