Demoboard microphone - what is its high frequency limit?

As written in topic title. I need to check if there is any (loud) sound in 20..100 kHz range in my neigbourhood. No high precision needed. So I want to change some constants in microphone-to-vga demo... but there is a question: what maximum frequency can this small microphone detect?

Most of the inexpensive units like the Demo Board has, and the ones sold by Radio Shack and Sparkfun, usually top out at 15-16kHz.

And also high frequency sound tends to be very directional

I wouldn't have thought of a piezo element as an ultrasonic microphone, but this project suggests they work:
