Hello All
'
I was looking at the new weather-prof ultrasonic transducers. (Parallax p# 502-14000)
'
http://www.parallax.com/Store/Sensors/AllSensors/tabid/760/CategoryID/46/List/0/SortField/0/catpageindex/4/Level/a/ProductID/755/Default.aspx
'
My question is are they compatible with the transducer on the "PING"?
'
I looked at the data sheet, But I don't have any data on the transducers used on the PING to compare to.
'
If they are, could they be remote mounted 6" to 14" away from the PING board?
'
'
Thanks for any info.

According to the data sheet this sensor is not waterproof " ■ This sensor is designed for use in air environment. Do not use it in liquid.", and it does not look as if it is compatible with the ping as far as driving it goes.

Thanks for the feed back Kwinn

I assumed "water-prof" meant rain resistant

This is what I'm looking for.

The Parallax ad says "weatherproof" and the data sheet testing was done at 95% humidity so that sounds reasonable.

I edited my post to reflect Weather-Prof and not water-prof.
