Ok. So I'm sitting here trying to post images of the latest gizmos I'm working on, but for the life of me I can't get an image to show up (since the "ol' Forum Crash of 2014-15")..
I know that many of you are thinking "how ironic", but rather than look *silly* to all my co-parallaxians by asking them how to do it (the "work-around" that some of you have figured out) I thought that I'd just use the anonymity of these Forums so that you can help me save (my) face here at Parallax...Who's with me?!
Make it a simple, step-by-step process, such that even someone with my IQ could do it

oh, did I mention that I have prizes?

Reply, Go Advanced, Manage Attachments, Add File, Preview Post, Right Click and open Attached Image in new tab, copy link, paste link in editor window, surround with [noparse]
Do you see the pic?
I start out with the image I want "open in a new tab." I need a URL for the image.
I opened Matt's avatar in a new tab and copied the URL. I then paste the URL between img tags.

Once the reply is entered the image shows up correctly.
If you use the "Reply With Quote" option, you can see most of the BB codes used in the message (quoted text gets removed).

It looks nice but I'm not sure I like it more than the original top.
The jury is still deliberating.

In the post reply box, click on "Go Advanced", then after typing in some text, I click on "Manage Attachments"
When the File Upload Manager shows up, click on Add Files in the upper right:
Click Browse in the Upload dialog:
Select your picture and click Open:
Click Upload:
Click Done in the Manage Attachments dialog:
Click on the Preview Post button on the right hand side:
When the post preview shows above your reply editor, right click on the image link in the Attached Images box and choose "Copy Link Location" (your browser may call it something different, but you want the target URL)
Paste the image URL between a set of IMG tags ([noparse] [/noparse])
Click Preview Post again and ta-da!

So I have to post the thread, then use Firefox to edit the thread and do the upload.
But, before you say why don't I just use Firefox, well it won't post the thread properly.
So I have to use both
