my BS2 doesn''t work!

i have a problem here. before this my BS2 worked well. at first i
programmed it using a 9V batteries. after a while, it fails to detect
power supply, keep giving the error msg saying that 'no power
supply'. so i switched to 12V batteries instead. ( yes, i connected
it to 23rd and 24th pin ). it worked well for another 1 week, but
rite now, no matter how i tried, it can't detect power supply. the
error msg says " BS2 detected but not responding to COM 1. Check
power supply ". is my BS2 spoilt?
i did try connect a 5V supply to the 21th pin, hoping that it would
work, but the same error msg appeared. Any kind soul out there can
help me over this?
