I would like to know how to read from the parallel
port using visual basic 6. I want to read a keypad
with the parallel port.

You can get a DLL from Jan Axelson's website that will let you read/write
from/to the parallel port.

This doesn't really answer your question, but there's an interesting and
free ActiveX control to help with bit manipulation, written by Steve
Hagemann, that was published as a Design Idea in EDN magazine. I haven't
used it, but here's how to get it: Point your browser to <www.ednmag.com>.
Click on "Search Databases" and then enter the Software Center to download
the file for Design Idea #2534.
