    The US Government requires this information to be available to
    anyone I believe. Most of the larger automotive tool manufactures
    have been able to acquire this info. See what www.fedworld.gov has to allow.

    Sounds intriguing.

    What kind of data does ODB2 gather? Is it used on a broad range of cars? Do
    you know who makes protocol converters?
