Simple test of DRV8825 Stepper Driver Module with P2

While waiting for the March 10, Stepper Driver Zoom event with JonnyMac, I wanted to make sure I had components that would work, to "play along". I scrounged around my 3d printer parts boxes (if you have been using a 3d printer for any length of time, you have spares!) and found DRV8825 driver modules and an extra small NEMA 17 stepper motor. The DRV8825 is an alternate to the A4988 modules suggested for the event, but they should just drop-in and work. Why not hook them up, write just a little test code and see if they work?

a simple test, with a DRV8825 stepper driver module and a NEMA 17 stepper motor. A Parallax Propeller P2 Edge module, running the Spin2 language controls the driver and runs a trolley back & forth on a 20 inch track. The test code does no acceleration or deceleration, so provides a clunky change of direction. An iPhone was attached to display video motion during a portion of this movie.
